A long and winding trail to a former lookout site, this hike offers a good workout, solitude, and spectacular old-growth scenery capped with excellent views of Mounts Hood, adams, and Saint Helens. Stare down, too, into the uncut thick forests of the Trapper Creek valley, one of the few remaining unblemished watersheds in the southern reaches of the gifford Pinchot national Forest.
