Bunker Hill Trail

Bunker Hill Trail Professional Review and Guide

"A short hike to a high rock outcrop overlooking the Wind River Valley and then on to a long-abandoned lookout site. The Wind River Valley, Mount Hood, and part of the Columbia Gorge are in view from the viewpoint.

If you are here in the early morning or in the evening, watch for Roosevelt elk in the fields far below. There is good cell-phone service from this viewpoint. Past the last switchback the trail continues to climb to the ridgeline of Bunker Hill, where the concrete base blocks that once supported a fire lookout can be found. Dense woods limit the view from the summit, at 2,350 feet above sea level."
