Cooney Lake/Martin Lakes

Cooney Lake/Martin Lakes Professional Review and Guide

"Want to give your dog something to howl about? How about a trail that leads to an assortment of lakes while following a pretty valley through open pine forests and rolling alpine meadows? Any dog that likes a dip at the end of the day will appreciate the series of lakes in which to paddle, and even water-phobic hounds will appreciate the meadows in which to romp.

The trail shares a trailhead and the first 2.5 miles with the Eagle Lakes Trail (Hike 29), and the crowds that often fill the lower trail diminish after the split, drawn off to the ever-popular Eagle Lakes basin."
