Dosewallips to Gray Wolf Pass

Dosewallips to Gray Wolf Pass Professional Review and Guide

"This trail is a beautiful introduction to the magnificence of Olympic National Park. The route initially follows the deep, V-shaped canyon of the Dosewallips River, then climbs gently for 9 miles, passing through various plant zones with the sharply rising Olympic range on all sides.

In the lower elevations the trail is lined with wild rhododendrons growing to great heights in the lush forest understory. This run is comfortably shaded even on the hottest summer day. As you get to higher elevations, the vista opens to a wide panorama of the national park. Although the Olympics are known for wetness, this trail stays dry and is well maintained."
