Hannegan Peak Trail

Hannegan Peak Trail Professional Review and Guide

"March up a wide-open valley resplendent in wildflowers, flanked by snowy crags, and reverberating with the sounds of crashing water. Under the ever-watchful eye of snow-and ice-heaped Ruth Mountain, make your way to a high pass— one of the few portals into the deep, dark wilderness of the North Cascades National Park.

But that’s for backpackers: your objective is nearby Hannegan Peak, with its dizzying views of that sylvan landscape and nearby Ruth, Shuksan, and Baker draped in layers of glistening ice."

Great trail! Bugs are especially bad up until the Pass, but if you keep going further the insect annoyance level goes down markedly. Trail itself in great condition with fantastic views!
