Vancouver Lake Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Vancouver Lake is a large tidal lake just northwest of downtown Vancouver. Its 2800-acre surface is unprotected from winds, and thus the lake is an excellent place to practice paddling on large, open bodies of water.
Even on relatively calm days, a gentle wind is usually present. On windy days, the lake can quickly turn rough. Paddlers should consider staying close to shore if strong winds are a possibility, and novice paddlers should be even more careful. On the other hand, it’s also a good place to use a kite for sailpower."
