Sand Lake Trail 60

Sand Lake Trail 60 Professional Review and Guide

"Hike from an out-of-the-way trailhead west of White Pass over a shoulder of Cortright Point. Then descend to Sand Lake and the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail.

Soon after passing the second pond, the tread begins to climb. After ascending a little less than 200 feet, the way flattens again. Look to the right here for a view of Goat Rocks to the south-southeast. Keep your eyes open for elk in this area; when I hiked this trail, I encountered one of the best specimens of Roosevelt elk bull that I have ever seen."
