Mazama Falls

Mazama Falls Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Draining the glaciers of Mt. Baker and the Chain Lakes below them, twisting, falling Mazama Falls bounds down 497 feet in four different sections before settling into Wells Creek somewhere near its ultimate base deep in the Mt. Baker Wilderness.

Starting out from the Chain Lakes trailhead at the northwest corner of the Artist Point parking lot at the end of WA 542, the trail immediately crosses over a snow bank (which often has a hollow cave inside during summer—be sure to climb inside
and look around) and channels you into the thick of a dramatic subalpine landscape complete with stunted growth evergreen trees clinging to rock-studded ledges."
