Laplash Falls

Laplash Falls Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"At Laplash Falls, Bear Creek splits into two channels and then converges over a wide rock wall before dropping like a curtain 47 feet into a rock grotto and disappearing downstream into the lush second- growth forest. The wild and green environment at the bottom of this little- known falls feels like deep wilderness even though the hike in from the road is less than a mile.

The hike to Laplash Falls follows an old logging road into typical Pacific Northwest second-growth forest, passing by a couple of “cowboy” (unoffi cial) campsites. Over the course of its first half mile, the road deteriorates and leads down to a meadow where it becomes a foot trail and then crosses over a rickety footbridge over Bear Creek before winding down into a rock grotto chiseled out by the falling water of Laplash Falls, which looks like a curtain wall veiling down over its 47-foot drop."
