One of several preserves and parks spearheaded by the Tapteal Greenway Association, Chamna is an important link in an emerging 30-mile greenbelt along the Yakima River from Bateman Island, at the confluence of the river with the Columbia, to the Kiona Bend in Benton City. Tapteal is the original name of the Yakima River.
