Nisqually Vista Loop Trail

Nisqually Vista Loop Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This short trail loops through wildflower meadows and offers grand views down onto one of the park's largest glaciers—the Nisqually. Unfortunately, this glacier is retreating faster than most, too, so it is shrinking more each year. Take the kids to show them this changing landscape— it’s a great lesson in climate change."

I'm not a fan of hiking on paved trails but this was quite nice. Lots of wildflowers, little streams and then an impressive view of the Nisqually glacier and origins of the Nisqually river. The trials closest to the Paradise visitor/lodging area can be quite crowded. Early morning is best as by the afternoon the trails are quite crowded.

If you would like postcard-perfect views of mountain meadows, gorgeous wild flowers, and snow-capped peaks, this is the trail for you! I could not think of a more lovely family outing than spending a sunny day admiring the rich views and abundant wildflowers of the Paradise area. Bring your camera, sketch pads, and a sack lunch as you will hate to go back to your car after you behold this rich vista for yourself.
