This hike has it all: a challenging yet relatively easy trail through a pristine and isolated wilderness with meadows, mountains, and an alpine lake. The high-altitude, close-up view of Mt. Rainier alone is worth the drive up the primitive road to the trailhead. The trail does not require climbing, scrambling, or any dangerous maneuvers; nonetheless, you’ll be glad you’re prepared with trekking poles, boots with good treads, and plenty of water.
