Busywild Overlook

Busywild Overlook Professional Review and Guide

"This trail climbs steadily but gradually, piercing rich second-growth forests
full of wildlife and winter wonders. At the trail’s end, you’ll find views down
into the green-gray valley of Busywild Creek. Beyond the creek stretch
the long gray hills of the Rainier Timber Company’s tree farms, and to
the east lie the old-growth stands of the Glacier View Wilderness abutting
Mount Rainier National Park."

This was my first time on snowshoes. We parked at the lower Sno-Park and walked to the upper Sno-Park (1 mile) although the road was clear of snow. We put on the snowshoes at the upper Sno-Park and enjoyed the hike but.. The end of the Busywild Overlook road was just a cul-de-sac with no special view. I think there might have been an offshoot from the road that may have provided the promised view but I didn't know where the side trail was. I took my GPS and save the trail as a .gpx track. 12/8 was fairly warm and made for easy snowshoeing. We only saw one other group on the trail. I'm looking forward to doing more hiking in this area.
