Stillaguamish River South Fork

Stillaguamish River: South Fork Professional Review and Guide

"The South Fork of the Stillaguamish is another favorite steelhead stream flowing through a rural area. Its background bluffs give it the appearance of an Ozark river, but its vegetation is strictly Pacific Northwestern.

A broad but lively river, most of its real action comes within the first few miles of the segment. Alternating pools and riffles, the river is rocky: a good poling river challenging enough in its moderate rapids to provide practice in basic canoeing techniques. This segment is a favorite trip for the Paddle Trails Canoe Club."

One of the best hikes i've been on in months. Great bird watching opportunities, if you're patient enough.

Such a fun kayaking trip! We saw so much amazing wildlife during our trip down the river ... we even saw a couple otters and an eagle! Watch out for snags in the water.
