"The short, very popular, and much-used trail along the rushing Miller River leads quite quickly to one of the largest forest lakes in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Opportunities for water activities are abundant. The track is so eroded that exposed roots and rocks make travel difficult for short legs. However, only the last half-mile is steep, climbing to the source of the Miller, lovely Lake Dorothy." Read more

Hiked into Lake Dorothy and beyond. The hike was, as usual, very scenic. The number of day hikers was fairly high. But that was mainly to Dorothy. We hiked on past to Bear and then Deer Lake - Set up camp at Deer. The gnats were very heavy by the Lakes. We hiked on up to Snoqualmie Lake and it was a fairly steep climb, but without packs it wasn't too bad. We fished at Snoqualmie and one of our party pulled in 3 undersized fish (7,8,8). I got 3-4 bights. The seeting of all the lakes is great - -if we could just figure out what to do with those pesky gnats!

This trail was well maintained and beautiful. It was a bit of a climb approaching Lake Dorothy, especially for those of us that need to do a lot more hiking. The lake is beautiful, we went for a quick swim. My wife and I turned around here and went back down, but our friends continued on and backpacked in the area. Parking was easy, directions were good, all-in-all a great day.
