Pico Peak

Pico Peak Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"In the 1990s, the Appalachian Trail was relocated away from ski resort development on and near Pico Peak and removed from its traverse through Sherburne Pass. However, the old route remains open as the blue-blazed Sherburne Pass Trail and makes for a great loop hike of 10 miles when combined with the new section of the A.T. The outing could be accomplished as a day hike.

Yet there are so many good places to linger and enjoy views and the scenery beside the Trail that it should be done as an overnighter. You have the choice of staying in one of two shelters or of treating yourself to a night in the historic Inn at Long Trail. For reservations, call 800-325-2540 or go to innatlongtrail.com."
