One of Vermont’s most scenic ridges, the 15-milelong Worcester Range includes over 20 miles of trails, which lead through lush forests to bald summits, small cascades, and secluded outcrops. Much of the range is managed by Vermont as part of Putnam State Forest and Elmore State Park. This 8-mile hike visits two of the most picturesque spots on the range, Stowe Pinnacle and Mount Hunger, by way of a ridge walk along the Skyline Trail. Beginning and ending at parking areas 3 miles apart, the hike is best completed using two cars. Alternatively, either summit makes for an enjoyable journey by itself.
