Moosalamoo Campground Professional Review and Guide

"Want to feel like you’re really getting away from it all? Moosalamoo Campground offers an incredibly remote wilderness atmosphere. To get to the campground, you turn off the paved road (actually US 7), and start heading down a long and winding dirt road. This is called the Goshen Road, as it will eventually lead you to the town of Goshen. Several miles down on the right, you’ll come to the road leading into the campground. If our campground ratings judged seclusion, this would easily get six stars.

Moosalamoo is the Abenaki Indian word thought to mean “the moose departs” or “he trails the moose.” The Abenakis frequently traveled through and stayed in this region, and their history and legacy linger. The entire campground and all the campsites within are shaded by a mixed forest of hardwoods, with lots of maple and birch. The brilliant green leaves at the height of spring and summer cast a glow over the campground. The forest is young and spaced loosely enough to let generous amounts of light reach the campsites."
