A hidden gem, Old City Falls in Strafford drops almost 50 feet and includes a main vertical plunge and two lower cascades. To get the best views, however, you’ll have to be comfortable rock hopping in the stream and climbing a steep slope using trees as holds. This fall is beautiful, and runs all year long, but note that getting a good view of the falls requires some tricky rock hopping and scrambling. If you come in the off-season, you will need to park at the gate and walk 0.1 mile down the road. During summer you can pull into the parking area, which also has a nice shelter and picnic tables.
