Indian Brook Reservoir

Indian Brook Reservoir Professional Review and Guide

"This small, popular pond offers a great opportunity for combining camping, hiking, paddling, and nature observation. Look for marshland species, particularly at the pond’s northern end."

This is an excellent piece of water to paddle on. On the weekends the reservoir can get a bit crowded, so during those hot summer weekends I suggest you put in at the mouth of the Little River on the Stowe side of the reservoir. There is a lot of water to paddle on this side and there’s also an abundance of wildlife; loons, hawks, bald eagles, and beavers to name a few. This is also a great spot for fishing. Be sure to have your fishing license and your PFD with you at all times as the VT State Fish & Game wardens frequent this stretch of water.

Canoed the lake, rather than walked the trails. Beautiful scene, surrounded by the Green Mountains, in the shadow of Mt. Mansfield. A few motorized craft, but they went by.
