Southern Vermont Professional Review and Guide
"An early Indian summer embraced the falling and rising southern Vermont hills which faded into a haze of orange, crimson and blue. The autumn aroma, bathed in the warmth of the day, was unmistakably familiar and intoxicating. If ever a day could cast a magical spell, this had to be it. In fact, my good fortune was sustained for the better part of three days as I traveled this area, exploring more roads than I can recall.
Though I’ve chosen a rather large loop for this excursion, I know that the points of interest I mention only scratch the surface of all that this region has to offer. It is next to impossible to do the area justice, or the whole of Vermont for that matter, especially when it comes to its natural beauty. One can only hint at the wonders, both subtle and grand, of the Green Mountain State, whose mountains are anything but green come mid-October."
