Piedmont Challenge

Piedmont Challenge Professional Review and Guide

"Just west of bustling northern Virginia and east of the tranquil Blue Ridge foothills lies the lush, green rolling hills of Virginia’s Northern Piedmont. Based in Warrenton, the Piedmont Challenge is a tour through preserved pre–Civil War villages and towns and through the famous horse-and-wine country for which Fauquier County is so well noted.

At 54 miles, the challenge is constantly rolling but lacks any significant climbs. It can be completed in one day, with time left to explore Warrenton’s unique shops and appealing restaurants. Terrain: Moderate hills. No major climbs, and some flat riding between hills. Though not for beginners, it is one of the easier challenges in the book."
