Hidden Valley Recreation Area

Hidden Valley Recreation Area Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This Forest Service campground is located in George Washington and Jefferson National Forests and is a historic Civil War site, featuring Warwick Plantation, which dates back to the mid-1800s and is now a bed-and-breakfast inn. Situated in a valley (hence the name) and along Jackson River, it is a peaceful location with hay fields.

Fishing here requires a valid Virginia state fishing license. Altogether there are about 20 miles of mountain biking and hiking trails available, ranging from 1 mile to 7 miles in length. The Hidden Valley Trail is open to equestrians, too. Toilets are wheelchair accessible. Lake Moomaw is nearby. RV friendly."
