Hidden Valley

Hidden Valley Professional Review and Guide

"This ride's general location is 5 miles west of Warm Springs. Scenery includes world-class lodging, trout fishing, and a restored antebellum mansion. The loop through Hidden Valley in the far reaches of Bath County was one of those pleasant surprises. Starting with an easy flat stretch along and through the Jackson River, you'll ride on double-track and forest roads that circle Little Mountain before you return to the start on a 2.5-mile downhill.

Some ups and downs will get your heart and lungs working, but it's nothing that even novice riders with a moderate level of fitness can't handle. The appeal of this locale is long-standing-in fact, ongoing archeological excavations at Hidden Valley have traced a Native American presence back 9,000 years."

This place is beautiful! Great place to camp and fish as well as bike. It is not technically difficult. The river was up a little so it was a challenge for my then 13 year old son to cross. On the downhill coming back we were moving pretty fast and encountered an area of very loose gravel that upped the pucker until we could get slowed down enough. Had lunch at a great little place in Hot Springs on the way out.
