Mabry Mill Challenge

Mabry Mill Challenge Professional Review and Guide

"The Mabry Mill Challenge takes the cyclist through scenic Patrick County, which is famous for its peach orchards. Some strenuous climbing is required to reach the Blue Ridge Parkway, where cyclists can stop at Chateau Morrisette, Virginia’s largest winery. Cycle a few miles down one of America’s most scenic roads and visit Mabry Mill, a gristmill built in the early 1900s.

The mill and associated exhibits are one of the parkway’s most popular attractions as well as one of the most photographed places on the East Coast. Hang on for a thrilling descent past the Pinnacles of Dan and along rhododendron-draped mountain streams back to the rural county seat of Stuart. Terrain: Hilly to mountainous. Toughest challenge in the book. Only the strongest cyclists should consider completing the ride in one day."
