Waterfalls of the Northern Valley and Ridge Region

Waterfalls of the Northern Valley and Ridge Region Professional Review and Guide

"This region encompasses the heart of Shenandoah Valley and some of Virginia’s most beautiful mountains. Much of the mountainous part of the region is in George Washington National Forest. In the southwest portion of the region lies the famous Homestead Resort at Hot Springs. Perhaps the area’s greatest attraction is history. Many houses, barns, mills, public buildings, and other structures from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries remain fully intact, and numerous museums and interpretive parks are scattered throughout the area.

Those not interested in history can enjoy sightseeing along the many backroads. Heck, come to think about it, with so much else to see and do here you might forget all about the waterfalls. I-81 forms the entire eastern boundary all the way to the West Virginia border above Winchester, while I-64 forms the southern boundary to the West Virginia border west of Covington. This eTrail covers 5 waterfalls in this region including Waterfall on Falls Run, Waterfall on Tributary to Middle River, Stony Run Falls, Blue Suck Falls, and Falling Spring Falls."
