Great Lakes Loop

Great Lakes Loop Professional Review and Guide

"This ride's general location is 15 miles west of Staunton. Scenery includes majestic lakes set against a mountainous backdrop. Water is an obvious draw to this loop as you will enjoy the postcard-like landscapes the Allegheny Mountains paint behind these man-made lakes.

A beginner with some ability to use granny gear or a willingness to get off and walk will have no problem on this ride, nor will a rider of greater ability or experience, for that matter. As you pedal past Todd Lake on the first part of the climb, you can take in some great views of Chestnut Ridge off to the right."
