"This is a moderately difficult hike to a falls, the retreat of a former U.S. president, and a return along one of the park’s higher and more geologically interesting peaks. A sign explains that “Fishing Is Permitted” in the stream. However, it also says “All fish must be handled carefully and returned immediately to the stream” and “Only artificial flies or lures with a single hook are permitted.” After 1.5 miles the trail passes Big Rock Falls. Continue following the trail downhill, until you encounter a bridge crossing Mill Prong, which is almost immediately adjacent to the Rapidan River." Read more
