Waterford Cruise

Waterford Cruise Professional Review and Guide

"The Waterford Cruise explores the gentle farmlands and villages of the Catoctin Valley. Starting in the town of Purcellville, the cruise takes in a few miles of the paved W&OD Trail, one of northern Virginia’s great recreational resources. Then it’s on to Waterford, considered to be the prettiest village in Virginia. Founded by a Pennsylvania Quaker, Waterford most resembles an Irish village and is now listed as a National Historic Landmark.

Pass through several more Loudoun County villages on your way to the base of Short Hill Mountain, where you’ll enjoy an easy and spectacular spin back to Purcellville. Terrain: Gently rolling. Several relaxing flat stretches. No major mountain climbs, but there are a few hills that will challenge beginners."
