"Located in the GWJ National Forests, in a gorgeous mountain-top setting that is close to the Appalachian Trail, within 10 miles of the Virginia Creeper Trail, and Virginia’s two highest points, Mount Rogers and Whitetop Mountain.

This park is an excellent launch point for activities in the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area. Scenic views are outstanding, with peaks more than 5,000 feet, waterfalls, and stunning overlooks. The park offers more than 67 miles of trails for horseback riding, with a special horse camping area. There are also 10 miles of cold streams for trout fishing."
