Stony Man Trail

Stony Man Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This is an interpretive trail to the peak of Stony Man Mountain. At 4,010 feet, Stony Man is the park’s second-highest mountain after Hawksbill. The park provides a brochure (nominal fee) with twenty interpretive site descriptions for this self-guided hike.

From the Stony Man parking area inside Skyland, access the Appalachian Trail at the cement post. Follow the trail right (northeasterly). At 0.4 mile the AT reaches its highest point in Shenandoah. Here, the Stony Man Horse Trail branches off to the left (west) from the AT at a cement post."
