Marys Rock via The Pinnacle

Marys Rock via The Pinnacle Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The hike over The Pinnacle to Marys Rock traverses the most spectacular section of the Appalachian Trail (AT) through Shenandoah National Park. The views are expansive and frequent. And hiking to a view is always more rewarding than driving to a view. Panoramas open up shortly after you leave Pinnacles Picnic Ground.

A climb leads you to The Pinnacle, which has an outstanding vista. Still more views await before what many Shenandoah oldtimers feel is the best vista in the entire park—Marys Rock. This hike’s rewards far outstrip the effort it requires. Its elevation changes only amount to climbs and drops of 450 feet each—not bad for this park, not bad at all."
