Conway River Loop

Conway River Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This loop leaves the Blue Ridge and follows the scenic Conway River through a parcel of the Rapidan Wildlife Management Area. Leave the Conway River, and head into the high country on the seldom-trod Slaughter Trail, passing a pioneer homesite, for the upper reaches of Devils Ditch.

Complete your trip by clambering over Bearfence Mountain, with its 360-degree views, on a short but challenging rock and boulder scramble; pets are prohibited on this scramble. This loop makes for a long day hike but a great one- or even two-night backpack."
