Rockbridge Challenge

Rockbridge Challenge Professional Review and Guide

"Starting in the historic college town of Lexington, the Rockbridge Challenge takes the cyclist on a scenic tour around Short Hills Mountain. Designed as an easier challenge, the route includes a few too many hills to classify as a cruise. The challenge follows many of Rockbridge County’s fabulous biking roads with names like Possum Hollow, Toad Run, and Blue Grass Trail.

Enjoy one of Virginia’s greatest downhill runs as you gradually glide along South Buffalo Creek for 11 miles. After the ride, enjoy Lexington’s hospitality and see why it is consistently ranked as one of America’s best small towns. Terrain: Moderate to advanced difficulty. Several long, flat stretches along creek beds. Several good climbs."

Very pleasant ride with great roads and little traffic. The ride seems to end too quickly. Lexington is a neat town with a lot to offer.
