Todd Lake Recreation Area

Todd Lake Recreation Area Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Living just a half-hour’s drive from Todd Lake over the course of my 20 years as a Shenandoah Valley resident, I confess to having spent more time at this recreation area taking a dip in the 7.5-acre lake after a rigorous mountain bike ride or a daylong family outing than as an overnight camper.

No matter how far away you live, however, you’ll find that camping at Todd Lake opens up a world of outdoor activities in this part of the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. Forest Service representatives suggest that campers looking for optimal seclusion at this or any other national forest campground should plan their visit during midweek or outside of the busy summer months."

Beautiful lake, great hiking trails that start and finish at the camp grounds. Downside was no on-site firewood, ice, etc. Sites were very well manicured. Dog Friendly, although regulations were meant to keep obnoxious dogs controlled. Beautiful during the fall. Lake has nice imported white sand beach.
