Brandywine Lake Overnighter

Brandywine Lake Overnighter Professional Review and Guide

"This ride's general location is 25 miles west of Harrisonburg on US 33. Scenery varies from lush riparian areas to clear views from Shenandoah Mountain ridge tops. This is a challenging 2-day camping trip between national forest campgrounds that will offer you an opportunity to try some mountain bike camping while riding entirely on dirt and gravel Forest Service roads-albeit pretty rough in spots.

You'll start at Brandywine Recreation Area and pedal to spend the night at Camp Run, with only the sounds of the winds whispering through the pines and sugar maples and the rushing waters of Camp Run to keep you awake before your return trip the next day. The ride is suitable for riders of intermediate and better fitness and skill levels."
