This hike takes you on a couple of the many short trails in Deep Run Park, including the quieter north end of the retreat. The paved path wanders through hickory-oak woods and near developed facilities before backtracking. Henrico County can pack a lot into their parks, and Deep Run Park offers a good example of this. Not only are there multiple trails here but also numerous other facilities. The park offers traditional soccer fields, basketball courts, picnic shelters, and a very large recreation center used for meetings and such. The park also has a natural side, including a nature pavilion and boardwalk that leads to Deep Run, and ponds. This hike takes a path that heads to the quieter north part of the refuge before making a little mini-loop and then backtracking.
