Sugar Knob Cabin

Sugar Knob Cabin Professional Review and Guide

"Easy, smooth single track contrasts with technical rocky sections as this trail climbs to an old rock cabin on the ridge between Big and Little Sluice Mountains.

Be prepared to tighten your grip and hold on for the bone-jarring descent down Little Sluice before winding out the ride on the forest roads. Highlights: Boulder fields, stone cabin, springs, very steep downhill with loose rocks, great views"

Any day in the outdoors and away from the routine is a great day! We hiked the Little Stony Creek (yellow), half of the Mill Mountain (orange) to the Trout Run Overlook, and the Big Schloss Connector (blue). We stayed at the Sugar Knob Cabin (PATC) for two nights. Parts of these trails are steep and they are not for the casual hiker. The trails were spacious, though, and maintained. It appears the Big Schloss Connector had been redirected and is a little longer than the 1.13 noted on the trail map. The arduous hike to Big Schloss is well worth the view.

plan on walking your bike through some hellified boulder fields.the top part of this trek is almost unridable.but the way down is a whole lotta fun indeed!dont bring an unexperienced rider with you on this ride or it will cost you some fun.
