Claytor Lake State Park

Claytor Lake State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Located along the beautiful Claytor Lake, which is 21 miles long so there is plenty of open space for boating. It was created by the dam built on the New River. There is a marina available here. Rent a motorized boat to explore beautiful Claytor Lake, or bring your own and make use of the boat launch.

There is excellent hiking and biking located nearby in the New River Trail State Park, offering 57 miles that parallel the New River for two-thirds of that distance. Campsites are wooded. RVs welcome; the park can accommodate larger RVs up to 35 feet."
