Go Big Run or Go Home

Go Big (Run) or Go Home Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The southern Shenandoah may be about as close to a backpacker’s paradise as you can get just two hours from the Beltway. The trails are less crowded than the northern and central districts, and limited access to Big Run’s watershed means that some of the most impressive sights can best be reached by backpackers.

The list of highlights is long and includes Rockytop, Big Run, Jones Run, Doyles River, Brown Mountain, and Blackrock. And, if you time your trip right, the swimming holes are superb. Walk these 38.6 miles, and you’ll be eager to return to explore other trails along this circuit!"
