Poverty Creek Trail

Poverty Creek Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This ride's general location is 3 miles northwest of Blacksburg off US 460. Scenery includes great views from the top of Brush Mountain. Few places can boast of high-quality, diverse mountain biking and proximity to a major university town, but that's what you get in Poverty Creek.

Novice bikers will enjoy the trail's relatively flat nature, but enough rises and falls are thrown in to make it interesting for more adventurous riders. Starting at the parking area along US 460, you can ride an 11-mile loop that utilizes the Basin Trail and FS 708 to Boley Fields and back. An option includes climbing from the Basin Trail to FS 188-2 at the top of Brush Mt. This adds a 4.5-mile loop to the Poverty Creek loop."

Great double track, necks down to some awesome singletrack. This whole area is a mountain bikers dream. Alot of varied terrain, well marked trails, awesome downhills on some of the best single track in the State.
