North Creek

North Creek Professional Review and Guide

"Situated in scenic Botetourt County near Natural Bridge, the North Creek deserves any serious trout angler’s attention. Although there is good water throughout North Creek, it’s the catch-and-release trout portion in the uppermost section above the campgrounds of North Creek that garners most fly anglers’ attention. North Creek is crisscrossed several times by Rt. 59, which allows for easy access.

I recommend driving to the end of Rt. 59 and beginning to fish after crossing over the wooden bridge near the information kiosk. Cornelius Creek, a small feeder stream, enters North Creek just past the wooden bridge. If North Creek is too high, you could try this small stream as an alternative. Types of Fish: The lower end of North Creek contains stocked rainbows; the upper section has wild brook trout as well as wild rainbows."
