Wakefield Park / Accotink Trail

Wakefield Park / Accotink Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Host to countless mountain bike races and cross-country races throughout the season, Wakefield Park has become somewhat of a local stronghold for mountain bike excitement in Northern Virginia. With the nearby power lines behind Wakefield Park and trails that are perfect for a quick workout as you exit the Beltway from a long day's grind, this area is a sweet spot in the local off-road scene.

And from here, cyclists less interested in mashing out their frustrations on technical track can instead leisurely pedal along a flat, dirt path, beneath Braddock Road and over to Lake Accotink Park. Here, a scenic, woodland preserve, as well as an abundance of short, steep hills, tree roots, quick dips, and fast turns await. Stop off after work and get out of traffic for this great mountain bike locale. Trail Surface: singletrack and dirt trails."
