Wakefield Park is quite possibly the most popular mountain-bike destination in the Metro Washington, D.C., area. Its close proximity to the Capital Beltway makes it a popular destination for all the northernVirginia suburbanites who live and/or work inside the beltway. On any given afternoon, the parking lots of Wake eld Park are brimming with activity from people using the soccer fields, Audrey Moore RECenter, skate park, tennis courts, and the extensive network of bike trails that run parallel to Accotink Creek and the nearby power lines.

This is a decent trail to go with the family but not if you are seeking some thrills. This trail is packed with hikers on the weekends and you sometimes have to stop because of children. It is more of a relaxing trail. I do recommend it on the weekdays where there a very few people on the trail.

Great trails here. Awesome for biking because of the variety of trails. Great for beginner bikers as well as intermediate and very close to the DC area.

Not a bad place to spend an afternoon. Quiet enough and not too crowded, you can have fun for hours backtracking and taking the same trails different ways. A lot of jumps and sandy trails where you can fly. Good place to tool around.

Get off of the main paths and you can stay here for hours winding through the woods. Trail is much better when ridden fast. Go in the woods by the power lines and get a treat of many fallen trees and logs to cross.

If you live in DC on NOVA great local trail for when your short on time. If your not in a rush drive further in almost any direction and you can find better trails. Nothing here can really be considered technical (maybe except for one half washed away hill with heavily exposed tree roots near the rail road tracks which takes a bit of practice to get up or down) if you think this area overall is hard, your a newby.
