Huntley Meadows Park

Huntley Meadows Park Professional Review and Guide

"Huntley Meadows Park is a huge nature preserve located in southern Fairfax County. It’s a great place to take a short hike and spend a lot of time observing wildlife, especially birds.

Covering 1,557 acres just south of Alexandria, Huntley Meadows Park celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2016 and ranks as one of the metro area’s largest close-in parks. Its centerpiece is a 500-acre freshwater marsh—the area’s largest—enveloped by mostly deciduous woodlands. The result is a protected natural habitat with a remarkable array of plants and animals."

Nice easy trail, does really not take longer than 2 hours. Lots of shadow.

Love to train run here. It's close, and I can get a good workout in.
