Bonneville Salt Flats Ramble Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The Great Salt Lake Desert occupies about 4,000 square miles west of the Great Salt Lake, in Tooele and Box Elder Counties. The desert is actually larger than its namesake Great Salt Lake. Part of the much larger Great Basin Desert, it is arid and barren, practically devoid of vegetation.
The Bonneville Salt Flats Ramble is a 19.5-mile out-and-back ride on level roads on the western edge of the Great Salt Lake Desert. The ride starts and ends in Wendover, on the Utah–Nevada border. The desert is arid and dry (and hot during the summer), so be sure to be properly hydrated and to bring plenty of fluids on the ride. There is a mini-mart at the 4.6-mile and 14.8-mile marks of the course (same mart), perhaps
perfectly located for a refreshment stop."
