Oaks Park Reservoir

Oaks Park Reservoir Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This is a small alpine lake surrounded by forest located on the Red Cloud Loop Road north and west of Vernal. Though not as scenic as East Park Reservoir, it nevertheless features a quiet Forest Service campground. Boat launching is difficult here, though it would be a good place for a canoe, rubber raft, or float tube.

Fishing pressure tends to be lighter here than in other Uintah Basin locations, but it can receive moderate pressure on some of the busy holiday weekends. Fish tend to be small but plentiful. This is a good place to beat the crowds and take the kids for some fast action. Standard trout baits are always a good choice from shore. Fly fishers do well with dark woolly buggers and some streamers. Maisie and Jake’s spoons are another option."
