Jones Hole Creek

Jones Hole Creek Professional Review and Guide

"A moderate day hike or overnighter in Dinosaur National Monument. The Jones Hole Trail follows the clear, spring-fed waters of its namesake creek in a deep, scenic canyon. Special attractions include trout fishing and prehistoric Indian rock art.

You won’t see any dinosaur bones in Jones Hole, but you will see country typical of the rest of Dinosaur National Monument—deep, sheer-walled canyons etched into the high plateaus at the eastern end of the Uinta Mountains. Jones Hole Creek, rushing from limestone springs to join the Green River, has carved a gorge more than half a mile deep."
