Jones Hole

Jones Hole Professional Review and Guide

"The vegetation along the stream is lush and green, contrasting with the high cliffs. After the trail crosses a footbridge over to the west side of the stream, a footpath heads to the right up against the side wall. This side trail leads to two Indian rock art sites with explanatory signs. The main trail continues along the stream south toward the Green River.

A worthwhile side trail forks to the right and goes up Ely Canyon. About 0.25 mile up is a small pool and waterfall. You can follow the trail above the waterfall and up Big Draw to an area called the Labyrinths that consists of a series of deep canyons reminiscent of the Moab area. In 1 mile the side trail ascends 600 feet to the top of the cliffs, giving views in all directions."
