Weeping Rock to Hidden Canyon Professional Review and Guide
"Weeping Rock is one of the most popular and easily accessible features in Zion National Park. The landmark is an immense alcove where the lower layer of sandstone has been cut away by erosion, with a seep in the sandstone. As water from the mesa above descends through the upper layers of permeable sandstone, it reaches an impermeable layer and is forced out in seeps, or weeping rocks, on the cliff wall. The constantly trickling water produces an abundance of plant life."
